if i was baptized in a church that doesn't preach the truth, do i have to be baptized when i see that i am in the wrong church and come to a church of Christ. please let me know.
Frank, thank you for the comment. You ask a very good question which may have different answers pending on our definition of a "church that does not preach the truth." If the gospel has been preached according to Bible doctrine, and obedience from the heart takes place (Rom. 6:17), no need to be re-baptized (1 Jn. 1:9, Js. 5:16). If not (1 Tim. 6:3-4), one must then be immersed for the right reasons (Acts 2:38) and find a local congregation/assembly of the Lord to be united with. Now, if a church preaches the right gospel but does not worship in spirit and truth, it would be wise to find one that does. It can happen that some churches preach truth in order to be saved yet do not worship properly, someone being immersed in such an area has been saved but needs to find a church that worships properly (IMHO). Now if we are speaking of outright denominations that not only teach error but worship in vain,... then any baptism taken place needs to be rejected. I pray this reply finds you well. I may not have all the answers but I always encourage further personal study in order to come to a solid conclusion. Peace.
I was baptized in a christian church who preached the correct gospel to be saved but they made me wait a week before they did it. They also do not worship properly. When i found the truth, I was re-baptized in the church.
